It is heartening that some universities are delving into profound aspects of life. Recently, Pennsylvania State University researchers asked to investigate the progression of my spiritual journey, background, adverse spiritual experiences and how I dealt with them. If that isn’t enough, they also want to research how the awakening process has affected my values, principles and codes of ethics.
I asked the researchers if they would be interested in including other people in their study because I know many of you have had beautiful experiences of awakening. They loved the idea. This blog post has a comment section at the end. There, you can post a summary of your spiritual background and your willingness to be part of their study. When you post a comment, the name you enter will appear online, but you may use a pseudonym if preferred. You must enter an email address, but it does not appear publicly, nor do we use or share it. If the researchers are interested, we will provide them with your contact information. The deadline to post online is November 15.

Jayanth has a recurring monthly subscription of Distance Healings, which he distributes among his friends, coworkers and family. He requested that a friend with aggressive breast cancer receive six Distance Healings each month. She was diagnosed with the most advanced stage of cancer—it had spread to other parts of her body. After several months of Distance Healings, he sent this update:
"My friend has just radically healed from stage IV breast cancer. The doctors can’t believe it!!! Please thank Suzanne for any role her healing may have played."

For those of you interested in being included in the research, here is what the researchers said:
The participant should be in what some call a “LATE STAGE of realization,” whatever that means in their own framework or tradition. We’re aiming to explore the entirety of the awakening journey (even though it might never really end), and that’s why we’re focusing on interviewing participants who are further along the path.

I stumbled into a brief but full blown experience of enlightenment (what Maharishi would define as god consciousness) in 1973. As someone with meta-consciousness (a deep awareness of one’s thought processes that extends to the ability to see and analyze both internal and external events) I was able to come back from that state of omniscience with deep, detailed knowledge of the “mechanics”.
During a 6 month retreat in the mid-70s, I had several openings and began witnessing full time. Cosmic perception also began. In 2007, the actual awakening finally happened. Likely because of the long witnessing, the next few stages came quickly after.
I soon began supporting others in understanding their shifts and was exposed to a number of styles. It became clear what was the underlying process and what were the subjective variations.
Always interested in research in the field as more complete models of the process are needed so actual shifts can be clearly understood and not confused with passing experiences.
