Ski Jumping Miracle

Nineteen-year-old Alison Apostle broke her back ski jumping at Bridger Bowl, Montana. Her first lumbar vertebra shattered into many pieces, which caused multiple nerve damage. She was transported by ambulance, then plane, then another ambulance to Billings, Montana, where they performed emergency surgery during the middle of the night. The five-hour surgery included removing a portion of her vertebra (laminectomy), performing spinal fusion, and installing nine bolts and two rods in her spine. After the surgery, major organs were still not functioning properly, and she had trouble sitting and standing.

Five days later: Roger Kirk asked me to do Distance Healings for Alison. I started immediately. Her mother was able to leave work and her family to travel and be with Alison throughout her recovery. Her mother provided frequent updates and reported that two wins happened that day. The first win: Alison was reply able to get out of bed and take a few steps for the first time since the accident. That meant she could go outside and to other places. The second win: She got a referral to Craig Hospital in Denver Colorado, one of the best rehabilitation facilities in the US for spinal cord injuries.

Six days later: Physical therapists took Alison outside where she enjoyed feeling the warm breeze and sun on her face. She met another girl her age who had a similar injury three weeks earlier. Alison was encouraged to see the tremendous progress her new friend had made in such a short time. Their mothers exchanged tips and phone numbers.

Seven days later: More good news. A Craig Hospital liaison flew from Colorado to Montana to meet with Alison and tell her they will have room for her in five days.

Eight days later: Progress! Alison went for two walks and was able to do some of her favorite hobbies, drawing and playing her guitar. The next day she finally got to take a shower and go outside again.

Eleven days later: Alison was in flight to Craig Hospital in Denver Colorado. The next day she did so well on a balance test that she was cleared to get out of bed on her own and walk around using a walker. The walker was needed for safety because her injury was so recent.

Twenty-five days later: Even though Alison had to rehabilitate her broken body and relearn how to do simple things like bending over and tying her shoes, everyone at Craig Hospital was amazed at her quick progress. She had regained proper functioning of all her internal organs. Only 29 days after her accident, the hospital released her so she could go home. Alison was so happy to be reunited with her entire family, friends and cat. She exercised and followed a healthy routine of early to bed, early to rise. She used to be a night owl.

Forty-two days later: Alison returned to Billings Clinic for follow-up visits. Her mother said that jaws dropped. Everyone was amazed at her improvement in such a short time! Neurological images and examinations confirmed she was healing well. So, Alison went back to work at the Hullabaloo toy store and met with her college professors to finish the semester. The college was very supportive.

Forty-eight days later: Alison's endurance continued to grow, so her hikes with her father got longer and harder each day. She continues to enjoy exploring, traveling and spending time with friends.
Alison's mother wrote that a lot of good has come out of this ordeal: Their family is closer, they have reestablished relationships with old friends, made new friends and have a new appreciation for everyday life.

Alison expresses her appreciation to Roger Kirk for ordering her Distance Healings and kindly gives us permission to share her healing journey:

"Hi Roger, I want to thank you for taking the initiative to contact Suzanne Stryker. Although no one can say for sure the exact ingredients that made up my rapid recovery, I have a sense that her involvement played a significant role. Something about my recovery path feels strangely 'miraculous' in a way, and I am bound to wonder if her work provided that miracle component. Regardless, I am eternally grateful to you and Suzanne. I would definitely be willing for them to post my story. Let me know if there is anything else you need. Thank you so much.
😊"

As I write these words, I have happy tears in my eyes. I also want to thank Roger Kirk, Alison's family and her medical teams for their support in her recovery. Thank you to Alison, for being adventurous, courageous and radiant. Thank you for showing the world that miracles are possible and can happen quickly. Read more here.

Love,
Suzanne
