WOW and Smile Bathtub and Beyond

Bathtub and Beyond

Years ago, when I moved in with my husband, the old cast-iron bathtub that he got for five dollars did not make me smile.

The background wood and old green painted floor did not make me smile either. But then I got inspired, and soon I was grinning from ear to ear.

Paintbrush to the Rescue

One of the ways I love to share my joy of life is to transform things and give them a new life. I started with the background wood. Rather than using store-bought stains, I raided my paintbox and used my artist's acrylics instead.

Next, I protected the whole surrounding area with green painters tape and then painted the floor and tub with several layers of greens, blues and white.

The tub and floor turned out too green and did not match my hand-painted dresser, so I added more blues and white.

After I refined the colors, I painted a matching blue border around the perimeter of the floor.

Wow and Smile

To finish, I added a colorful shower curtain and one of my paintings in the background. When friends see the improvements, they smile and say, "Wow!"

Integration
When I do creative work, I feel like the creator is right there with me, moving my brush or pen. I enjoy the process of creating and sharing with others.
Besides creative expression, there are countless ways to share your bliss. How do you like to spread joy and love? Through words of appreciation, a touch of humor, warm hugs or thoughtful gifts? Or perhaps by acts of kindness, being helpful or radiating positive energy?

Recall how it felt when someone was delighted to see you. Perhaps their face brightened up and they gave you a big smile. Why not greet others like that? Experiment with different ways to spread smiles and goodwill wherever you go. Notice what works for you and different types of people.

Joy Amid Challenges
After I wrote the above, I read Suzanne Hooper’s email about her amazing experience in a challenging situation:

I recently had major surgery. Thanks to your Distance Healings and surgery recording, the surgery was extremely successful and a joy to experience. Since I am continuing to experience well-supported recovery, I would like to add seven more days of Distance Healings.

Another report from her about connectedness and overflowing bliss is a wonderful example of what I have been discussing:

I have noticed a distinct lifting of my spirits, an enlivening of my life force. I have felt increased optimism and a tangible sense of connection to others. Less "I, me, mine" and more "we, us, ours."  Most notable is an intense deepening of silence during [meditation] program. These experiences have all resulted in a feeling of increased hopefulness. Of course, all of these noticings are very subtle and feel very intimate to me. However, as I have been out for my daily walks, people have been smiling at me and saying hello. As I was walking to meet my daughter for a beautiful spring walk on Sunday, a woman called to me from her second-floor balcony. She said, "I saw you coming from two blocks away and I had to say hello!" It was so heart-warming, such a joy! It must be the Light! All of these experiences have contributed to a feeling of the lifting of a weight that I had seemed to be carrying when I requested the Distance Healings. I am so grateful for these results, and I look forward to regular healings over the next few months and years.

The good news is that I cannot take credit for the benefits people report, because everyone is naturally endowed with healing capabilities. We can transform our lives and even our bathtubs. We can experience joy in the mundane, the terrifying and the beautiful.

I would love to hear your thoughts about my artwork and the contents of this blog post. You are welcome to do so in the Comment Section below. I love to read your comments! You can use your name or a pseudonym.

Sending you miles of smiles,
